Well here we are more than halfway through 2011 and hopefully you will agree that we have had a very successful year so far with plenty of other activities to come.  To help us with these great activities we have been very lucky to be able to receive funding for our workshops and a trip to Dunwich and Christmas party.

                                                                                                                                                         

18th May - Bead Making Workshop

The above workshop was slightly different, this time instead of making jewellery it was making clay beads.   I would like to thank Sue Heaser for making it an enjoyable and informative workshop.

30th May - Costessey Fete

We had a stall this year again at the Costessey Fete.  This year we had bric-a-brac, a lucky dip for the children, tombola, Guess the Weight of the Cake, to which we done exceptionally well and made  286.60!  We would like to give a big thank you to everyone who helped out.

15th June - Picture Quilting Workshop

We would like to thank Jill Arnold for giving us her knowledge and expertise on picture quilting.  I was glad to hear that you found the workshop enjoyable and not as complicated as you thought!

25th June - Holiday

Some of you went with David, from DCP Travel to Eastbourne for a weeks holiday.  You seem to have had a lovely time (well I know I did!) the weather, hotel and trips out were very nice and also the opportunity of a get together in the evening for a good chat and a laugh.  I think I can say for everyone who went had a good time, so thank you David for your care and patience with us.  When David inform me where next years holiday will be I will let you know as soon as possible.

20th July - Drawing Workshop

We would like to thank Nicki for her drawing workshop, we all found it very interesting and informative.

3rd August

This was our normal meeting with art all day.

24th August - Trip to Dunwich

There was 25 of us who attended a lovely trip to Dunwich for delicious low calorie fish and chips, bread, butter plus a sweet and as much coffee and tea we could drink!!.  We then continued on to Southwold for a 2 hour stop and returned home at about 4.30 to 5.00.  Once again we all would like to thank David, from DCP Travel for being so kind and helpful (and even telling people off for not using the lift i.e. me!).

7th September

Art will be between 10am til 12pm followed by line dancing.  I hope you can all join in and have a good time!.

21st September

Floristry Workshop 10am - 2pm

We have another floristry workshop where Rachel is going to show us how to make a work of art out of flowers.

5th October - Beading Workshop

This is a beading day with Sally Ann and we are sure you will all enjoy beading as you normally do.

19th October - Oil Painting Workshop - 10am to 2pm

We have something a bit different for you all, a Bob Ross technique oil painting with Jane Good.  Basically, we are going to do an oil painting and be shown different techniques which we have never painted in oil before and you will be able to take home your masterpiece,  we hope you will all enjoy the day!.

2nd November - Meeting

Art in the morning with Nicki and the following activity is yet to be arranged.

16th November - Patchwork Workshop

Val Hope is doing a patchwork day we are sure you will all enjoy having a go at it.

7th December - Christmas Party 11-2

Well Christmas is nearly here again and as you all said you liked the Christmas party last year we thought we would get Star Value Catering again this year for a hot and cold buffet.  We will also have entertainment coming in and a raffle so if anyone would like to donate something for the raffle it would be greatly appreciated.  Please could you pass your donations to either Linda or myself.

To make it easier for us to confirm numbers, please could you let me know no later than 29th November.  I hope everyone can make it!.

Well that is all the activities for 2011 but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions of what we could do next year please let us know.

Finally, we would like to send our deepest sympathy to Barbara Kett for the sad loss of her husband we will all be pleased to see you again when you feel you are ready to come to the meetings.
